Here's a recent piece I've been working on for my portfolio, a game-ready violin. This violin is based on the Conservatory Violin Zene made by Paloma Valeva, a French violin manufacturer. The link to this violin can be found here: https://goo.gl/6T1f1Q
I started work on this by creating a high-resolution model of the violin, mainly trying to match shape and proportions in this stage. Next, I worked my way into the game-resolution model, focusing on topology, UV's, and texel density. Finally I worked in Substance Designer to create the different types of wood for this violin, those being Maple and Spruce, then applied these wood materials and the rest in Substance Painter. I also worked with using different colors for tinting and dying the wood, applying details, and used IRay to render.
